Here's how to do it:

- Play some paint ball first! We will rent you a few different types of equipment to try out.
- Purchase a good mask.
- Look at your income - and don't spend it all!
- Learn about the marker you are interested in before you buy it.
- Shop around and compare, but buy from somebody that you can trust to help you learn.

First things first - play paintball on at least three or four different occasions. Before you get into spending money on the wrong type of equipment, know which side of the sport you want to get into - recreational, competitive, or maybe you just want a marker to occasionally play paintball with. Some players spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on equipment, only to find out that its not quite suited to their type of play. If you borrow or rent for a few times you are more likely to end up with equipment that you are happy with.

Buy a good mask; you will not enjoy the sport if you can't see! And if you continue to play you will want a good mask. You should buy a mask even before a marker(most people do not enjoy wearing somebody else's sweat!) And you can't play without a mask, even if you have a thousand dollar gun. We recommend V-Force products. They are durable, easy to maintain, and re-salable.

Another thing to do is look at how often you play and your level of income. Think about this... if you can have the choice of purchasing a high end marker and only play once a month, as opposed to purchasing a low end marker and being able to play once a week, most players would suggest purchasing the low end marker. After all, not many people want to spend $800 on a marker and not be able to use it. If you really want to be able to compete with the others on the field, spend your money playing paintball. It's teamwork, then skill that wins games. Last on the list is a hot marker.

When you're ready to buy, shop around but buy from somebody you can trust. Buy a marker that is easy to get parts for, and that a local tech can fix. Be sure to ask how long it usually takes to get the parts you'll need for your marker. If you have it shipped in from Timbucktoo, and it's the only one of its kind in the city... then it might be hard to get it fixed! We recommend Tippmann products whole-heartedly! They are not as "shiny" as some, but they do work. Plus, we offer a FREE 1-year repair service over and above the 1-year parts and service that Tippmann provides.
